Shearing Time
The boys (our alpacas) were recently sheared. They have their new summer look. We say they have their Peruvian Poddle cuts. I have sent their 'seconds' cut to the Gulf Island Spinning Mill on Salt Spring Island to be processed to quilting batting. I will take their Blankets to Anna Runnings mill in Bowser to be processed with silk and wool to a 2 ply worsted yarn. These products will be available for sale late summer. I will keep you posted. In the meanwhile, come and visit our Boys at Starry Night Meadows Farm.

June In the Greenhouse
Farmer Gar has finished with the early green crops and has now planted in his tomatoes, cucumbers and basils.
Outside in the garden, Farmer Gar has planted more lettuces, spinaches, swiss chard, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, leeks and beans. All growing well, we should have some wonderful, fresh vegetables ready in July.

Rows and rows of Garlics. They will be ready in July, too. |
May in the Greenhouse
May was the beginning of our 2012 Growing Season. We had an abundance of Spinach and Lettuce.
